GLAMOUR MODELLING IN NEPAL!!!

Don't get me wrong; I'm usually a very open minded individual and I love my beautiful country.
I left KTM  about 6 years ago. Since then, Ktm has changed into this overpopulated, judgemental, materialistic, surprisingly "liberal" and media influenced (of course on just Youth in a bad way) SHIT hole. I mean like I would be a hypocrite if I say well I am not like that; everybody is a little materialistic and judgemental. Of course it is because of how media portrays... mm..let's see.. well.... everything and everybody too. Anyway, that's a totally different subject..let's not go there..

Moving on..

As far as I can remember, Nepal has always been conservative in terms of sexual liberation and morality. But these views are slowly and gradually changing in very few cities especially KTM for example, sex before marriage is more accepted today. However, people will still question your character if  they find out you're a sexually active woman; so women tend to keep it a secret; not just because they are embarrassed; it's because they fear having a bad reputation.

And in case of gender roles, Men have always been the dominant sex in Nepalese society; no matter how much you argue with my statement, even you know it's true. What men say you have to agree with them; there's no questioning them and to experience this you don't have to look far away but in the comfort of your own home. For example your Dad is always the boss and your Mum worships him like God; the way your parents treat you and your brother; the chores, the curfew time, the hair, the clothes etc. Even my guy friends and ex boyfriend told me that girls are really easy to get these days especially if you have got money and nice motorbikes/cars (this pissed me off so so sooooo fucking much). And this just doesn't happen in Eastern society; you can see some of it in western too.

Since I have lived in a traditional male dominated family I hate to say it but I don't feel uncomfortable or insecure when a man dominates me. Obviously, there are certain limits and boundaries; What pisses me off the most is when a guy tells me what to wear. And I totally support theSLUTWALK protest but guys don't get this.

Yes, This is where GLAMOUR MODELLING in NEPAL comes. I understand KTM has now "modernized" a lot and they are trying to experiment with various medium to "modernize" more. I don't think Glamour Modelling should be one. I had signed up to this website called FabNepal.net on facebook and every time I signed in, they posted pictures of  Nepalese girls posing semi-naked nearly everyday. I don't mind bikini shots but come on!!!! My first reaction to this was "EW! WHY?" *vomit* . The editing of some photos are seriously appalling and cheap looking- they just look bad. And the models are clearly an amateur; they just look so lost and pathetic.
And there are worse pictures..

I mean like as I've told you, Men look down on us already, why give them this opportunity to degrade women even more and look at us like sexual objects. However, some people might disagree with me here and they think glamour modelling as a feminist thing, Kelly Crossins, a glamour model feels that there is something rewarding and empowering about tantalizing male audience with her naked body "I enjoy knowing men find me sexy and that they fantasize over me,’ she says. ‘I think we all are unfairly portrayed. People assume I’m stupid, but glamour models often have a good business head on them." But to me feminism should perhaps be more to do with making a difference and building on problems such as pay gaps and the treatment of rape claims.

As a woman, to a woman, do you seriously think these pictures are hot? Would you be jealous of their bodies and want to be like them?
And to everyone Would you encourage Glamour shoots like these for young girls in NEPAL ? They're probably not even 18 yet. I certainly hope your answers to all these questions are NO! if it's a YES! then you seriously need some help. I am absolutely against this!!!
Nepal is still developing ,we are the 15th illiterate country of the world and we have many conservative views than liberal. People are going to spit on these pictures. What message does this give out to young girls and boys? There isn't actually an age bar in Nepal so anyone will have access to these stuffs. Have you even thought about how will these women be treated during and outside their shoots? AND COME ON! I don't think they get paid as much as some glamour models do here. They get anything from £50 a shoot to anything up to £50000.

These comments should tell you more than enough. Let me show you some :
"lack of brain in model as well... ready to strip for some cheap pics...bt we fucking enjoyy :P"
"purai khole ajai ramro huni thiyo.." translation: It would be better if you take em all off
"m*** harulai pose hannu audaina ajai model re bunch of sick bitches " *beep* do not know how to pose, wannabe models, bunch of sick bitches"
(I cannot put the link up here cuz' my blog might get blocked but you can check out some pictures on facebook.)

Do you want to hear all these kinds of disrespectful comments about you or any other women?
Be it in Nepal or any other Asian/east countries and even in western society glamour models are frowned upon. Couple of my white-British friends told me glamour models are just skanks. They're solely for men's entertainment.
Even on photos of famous celebrities like Cheryl Cole, Megan Fox, etc. I can understand they want to attract wider and larger audience but people still make some rude comments about them. like
"I'd tap that."
"s*ck me beautiful"
"I would b*ng her harshly mate"

Since, women fight for their rights so much. When a certain sexist remark is made, we suddenly become defensive and offended. We value our self-respect so according to me, women should be composed, elegant and dignified beings. Taking your clothes off for money and fame is not sexy; it's just cheap and degrading, there is a HUGE difference in being SEXY CLASSY and SEXY SKANK.
Fashion modelling on the other hand is such a fun and an alternative way to boost your confidence and it's far more respectable than glamour- You get to wear such fun stuffs. And fashion modelling is NOT for men's entertainment.. lol.. men who tell you it is..then they just have a very sick mind. I don't know why girls choose glamour modelling over fashion? While we are on the topic I was pretty impressed with parcha exhibitions' fashion show. Here are some of the photos:

Why miss out this opportunity to wear pretty clothes?

Now let's get on the touchy, judgmental subject. Nepalese girls are not really blessed with the "best" body in the world. Short legs, Average face nothing like Playboy's Playmates or Victoria Secrets Angel(Obviously with some exceptions). I do not mean if Nepalese girls were conventionally "beautiful and fit" they could do it. But there are some cringe worthy photos. The photos cud use some tweaking.

WTF? SERIOUSLY??

But there are some Nepalese models who are ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!!!

I mean like the editing is pretty good and their bodies are to die for. Glamour doesn't have to be about stripping your clothes off and showing off your private parts.

Overall, I'm outraged, disappointed and sad to see these poor Nepalese girls making themselves victims of  society and "giving what men wants". Some of them look so young.

Call me a close minded paranoid bitch or whatever I do not give a shit. I AM KEEPING ALL MY CLOTHES ON THANK YOU! AND I REALLY HOPE I WON'T BE ALIVE TO SEE TOPLESS NEPALESE page 3 GIRLS NEXT!!!
